La Liga President Insists Real Madrid Will Not Bribe Barcelona Opponents

La Liga president Javier Tebas has insisted that Real Madrid will not break any rules ahead of the final round of matches in La Liga, which could see either Los Blancos or Barcelona lift the league title.

Real need Granada to take points off Barcelona if they're to have any hope of leapfrogging them at the top of the table, and so-called 'briefcase incentives' have been offered to teams in a similar position before to ensure that they play their best - with Granada having nothing to play for in the match after securing safety from relegation.

Tebas appeared sure that Real wouldn't stoop to those desperate levels, quoted this week by Marca as saying: "I believe that Madrid will comply with the rules and Spanish legislation doesn't give priority to anyone."

He continued: "We will not allow behaviour that goes against the integrity of football and we will be vigilant in all matches, not just Granada."

Real Madrid must beat Deportivo to keep up the pressure on their rivals, manager Zinedine Zidane saying on the weekend: "I am always positive. Now we are second, there is one game to go and anything can happen. In football you never know what can happen. We need to be aware of that, give our all until the end and see what happens. The first part is our part. It won't be an easy game and we know that.

He added: "Granada are safe [from relegation] and will play the match as they have to. The important thing is that we do too. We have won 11 in a row and we want to show we'll continue to search for these two trophies."
