                "I am ready to sell"

Black Leopards chairman David Thidiela says he is ready to sell offensive midfielders Siphelele Ntshangase and Roggert Nyundu.
Ntshangase and Nyundu have previously been linked with moves to Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits respectively.
Leopards plan to overhaul their squad following their failed bid for promotion in 2015/16.
"I am ready to sell. People interested must bring money," says Thidiela.
Meanwhile, Lidoda Duvha have added former Mamelodi Sundowns general manager Kenneth Makhanya to their administrative staff.
Leopards finished the past season in eighth place on the National First Division table.

Jomo Sono says Cosmos played like world beaters

Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono admits he was bemused to lose 3-1 to Maritzburg United on the final day and be condemned to NFD football yet again.
Cosmos – widely criticised for parking the bus too often this season – had a few chances to put the Team of Choice away but didn’t take them, and a plucky Maritzburg fought back for their lives with three goals in the last 10 minutes.
REPORT: Rusike double saves Maritzburg
The look on Sono’s face said it all after his team went behind so late, and the coach failed to pitch for his post-match interview and instead left the pitch quickly upon the final whistle.
“We played like world beaters in the second half, we dominated the game. I thought we’re going to smash them four or five,” he is quoted as saying by PSL.co.za.
“It’s very disappointing and I'm disgusted, but what can you do? We got injuries to key players at an important time.”

Is it going to be a trophyless season for Orlando Pirates ??

The Soweto giants have not held a trophy this season after they had a long and trophyless season last year while they were docused on the continental tournament CAF. But the 28th presents an opotunity that can grant them a silver wear but yet Super Sports would not go easy on Pirates as they also want the trophy.

However, good news for Stars’ fans is that Robert Ng’ambi will be staying.
The midfielder has for some seasons been on the big three’s radar, but KickOff.com’s source says they have tied him down for another campaign.

Loris Karius signs for Liverpool: Mainz goalkeeper completes £4.7million move after release clause activated

Liverpool have completed the signing of Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius after activating his £4.7million release clause at the German club.
The 22-year-old has will take Liverpool’s vacant number 1 jersey after his request was accepted byJürgen Klopp.

There is a sense that the former Manchester City trainee is returning to England to be more than just competition for Simon Mignolet, whose performances since arriving at Anfield from Sunderland in 2013 have often been criticised.
Last week Karius was voted by readers of respected German football magazine Kicker as the second best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer.

Although Karius is yet to be capped by his national team and unless injury intervenes will not feature in next month’s European Championships in France, he is expected to feature in Germany’s Olympic football squad that travels to Rio de Janeiro in August. His presence there would potentially rule him out of the opening three weeks of the Premier League season.

Karius’s five-year Anfield deal means another loan spell next season for Danny Ward, the Welsh international, who could join Huddersfield Town. Klopp’s long-term friend David Wagner is in charge of the West Yorkshire club.
Karius’s recruitment brings the number of Klopp summer signings to three. Red Star Belgrade’s Marko Grujić and Schalke’s Joël Matip are expected to be at Melwood for the first pre-season training session of 2016, which is scheduled to be in the first week of July.

The Confederation of African Football announced in a tweet from their offcial Twitter account that the PSL side will take the Congolese team's place in the top-tier competition.

REUNION ?

These three could be reunited next season. That should be fun...

Louis van Gaal sacked by Man Utd over poor style of play

Louis van Gaal was sacked as Manchester United boss because his side played poor quality football this season.
United scored just 49 league goals and were criticised for the lack of attacking play as they finished fifth in the Premier League table.
Dutchman Van Gaal, 64, said he was "very disappointed" to leave, but added "the foundations are firmly in place" to "achieve even greater success".
Jose Mourinho is expected to be named as his successor this week.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss is due to hold talks with senior United officials on Tuesday.
BBC Sport reported on Saturday that United's FA Cup win over Crystal Palace would be Van Gaal's last game as boss.
United finished fourth and fifth in the Premier League in his two seasons in charge, missing out on Champions League qualification this term to Manchester City. Article from BBC SPORTS

Man City transfer rumours: Everton to make £40m bid for Hart, Vardy available for £20m

Now that the Premier League is over, transfer silly-season is starting to kick in to top gear.
According to reports in the Sun this morning, Everton are set to make a rather surprising £40 million bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart .
With Tim Howard leaving the Toffees this summer, it's known that they are looking for a goalkeeper to challenge Joel Robles for the Number 1 jersey.
The paper claim that the Merseyside club are ready to offer Hart £200,000-a-week to join them.
The Sun also claim that Pep Guardiola may be willing to sell Hart if he were able to get Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona - but any bid from Everton for the England No. 1 would fall in to the "ambitious" category.
In other news, Leicester forward Jamie Vardy is available to Champions League clubs for a cut-price £20 million - according to reports.
Reports in the Daily Mail suggest that Manchester City extensively scouted the Foxes striker during his incredible campaign this year - which has almost certainly earned him a place on the plane to Euro 2016.
Vardy - who is also reportedly a target for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham - has recently signalled his intentions to stay at the King Power Stadium.
However, the Daily Mail claim that the striker's low asking price will mean that Champions League clubs will inevitably come calling. Article from Manchester evening.

5 European Trophies down for Real Madrid ??

5 European Trophies down for Real Madrid ?

Ahead of a possible 11th title in next weekend's Champions League final for the Blancos, an online petition against them has amassed a huge number of votes
Real Madrid should be stripped of their first five European Cup wins, according to an online petition that has amassed 50,000 votes.
The petition on change.org claims the trophies Real Madrid won in the first five European Cup tournaments, between 1955-56 and 1959-60, were not in the same format as the modern Champions League.
Real Madrid have won the European Cup and Champions League 10 times in total, and they have the chance to make it 11 when they face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on May 28 in Milan.
The petition, started by Spain-based user 'Justicia Deportiva', which translates as Sporting Justice, reads: "We wish to request, in the name of the values represented by the sport and by democracy, that Real Madrid's European Cup titles won between 1955-56 and 1959-60 are immediately revoked.
[This would be] in recognition of the fact that those trophies in no way correspond to the competition recognised today as the UEFA Champions League."
Champions League organisers UEFA will be the recipient of the petition once it's complete.
Earlier this season, another Real Madrid-themed petition was started on change.org calling for the resignation of club president Florentino Perez, however it was not a success. Article from goal.com.

Collins' future on hold

Collins Mbesuma run over Ramahlwa Mphahlele
Mbesuma, on 14 goals, should finish top scorer in the Absa Premiership, especially if he can bang in one or two more goals against Free State Stars at Mbombela Stadium in Saturday's final round of matches.
Second-placed Prince Nxumalo is breathing down Mbesuma's neck on 13 goals, needing to score a few when Ajax Cape Town meet Bidvest Wits at Cape Town Stadium.
Ertugral and Aces' conditioning staff have been instrumental in the revival of Mbesuma, getting him fit and hungry, and playing to a gameplan that suits the Zambian's style of play.
But the 32-year-old striker has weighed in with just three goals in the last three months, prompting a cautious response from Ertugral on whether he believes Mbesuma still has what it takes to perform again next season.
"I don't know - we need to speak to him first, obviously. We need to see what the club's perspective is, too," Ertugral said yesterday.
"I think Collins has it. I think he will have the hunger also. I hope that he wins the Golden Boot. And then we will sit down next week and analyse this properly."
Ertugral is still eyeing an outside chance at third place for Aces.
At worst, Aces will have their best finish of sixth, beating seventh in 2013-14, if they lose against Stars and Chippa United beat Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium.
If AmaZayoni win and Platinum Stars and Chiefs both lose, Ertugral's side have a chance of third place.
"I think the team have done well. The problem is that in my opinion we could have done better. I'm not happy," Ertugral said

The 24-year-old initially revealed the tribute to the Barcelona and Argentina superstar before joining Real Madrid in 2013, but now insists the name was not his idea

Real Madrid midfielder Isco says he can no longer walk his dog because he named him after Barcelona icon Lionel Messi.

The 24-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after failing to cement a regular first-team place, revealed the tribute to Messi months before joining Real.

Ahead of his move from Malaga in 2013, Isco said he chose the name because "Messi is the best in the world and so is my dog" - comments which still haunt the player to this day.

So, what's the best way to handle the situation? Blame it on your family!

"I have to say, in my favour, that calling the dog Messi was more my brother and dad's idea than mine," he insisted in an interview with Antena 3.

"I'm washing my hands with it [the naming of the dog], I'm a Madridsta and that's that. I don't walk him anymore, imagine me calling him Messi in the streets."

Still, though, it's a dog's name. Who cares? Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, of course. Article from Goal.com

300 APPEARANCES FOR CAPTAIN SHABBA

Goodbye Paris. Hello England.

A one year contract is good enough for Zlatan at Old Traford.

A good game lost the GOLDEN GLOVE

Marcus Rashford added another goal to his impressive tally, and his form will undoubtedly be seen as the most positive thing to come out of a season that has seen many of his more experienced team-mates struggle to retain such consistency.
Captain Wayne Rooney also turned in a man of the match-winning performance from his new midfield role, netting his 100th goal at Old Trafford to open the scoring just before half-time. Ashley Young grabbed the third United goal in the 87th minute.
All in all it was a comfortable night for the Red Devils, but a last minute own goal from Chris Smalling means this season's Golden Glove will go to Arsenal's Petr Cech, rather than David De Gea, who he otherwise would have shared it with. Article by Matt Tate website JOE.co.uk.

Alex Ferguson on the Ronaldo vs Messi

American football had it with Peyton Manning and Tom Brady over the past decade, while in rugby things were a little less fair as Richie McCaw and Dan Carter found themselves playing for the same team.
In football, the debate of who to pick between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will never truly be solved.
Each year we think that one of them has put the discussion to rest, the other pops right back up starts the conversation all over again
For all his unquestionable talents, Lionel Messi's legacy will always - fairly or not - carry the disclaimer on these shores that he never did it in the Premier League.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, has proven that he is able to do it on the proverbial wet and windy night at Stoke, and it's this adaptability which sets him apart from Messi, according to his former manager Alex Ferguson.
Speaking at an event in Dublin, the former Manchester United manager said: "When the ball is at Messi's feet it is like he is wearing slippers. But there is a difference between Messi and Ronaldo and I'll tell you what it is.
"I think Messi is a Barcelona player but Ronaldo could be playing for Stockport County and he would score a hat-trick. He is brilliant in the air and he has two feet."
While it's not quite the Stoke cliche, it's pretty damn close. Even if he does have a point.Article from JOE.co.uk.

Manchester United Fails To Make It To The UEFA
Champions League

Manchester City fans mercilessly trolled Manchester United as Louis van Gaal’s side missed out on the top four in front of a sparsely-filled Old Trafford.
City knew it would take a miracle for their bitter rivals to pip them to the last Champions League place - with United needing to beat Bournemouth by 19 goals to secure fourth.
While that provided enough amunition for Blues supporters on social media - the sight of empty seats at Old Trafford was just an added bonus.
United ultimately won 3-1 to finish ahead of Southampton in fifth place - but it will be a season of Europa League football for the red half of Manchester next term. Article from Manchester Evening.

And even pundit Gary Lineker couldn’t resist getting involved in the banter, Tweeting: “Can’t really see Manchester United doing it now. 19 goals in an hour is a big ask.”

Man United bomb fiasco

There has been a call for a full inquiry after Manchester United’s final Premier League game of the season was abandoned following the discovery of an apparent explosive device that later turned out to be a fake bomb planted as part of a training exercise.

Greater Manchester’s police and crime commissioner, Tony Lloyd, said it was necessary to find out how the bogus explosive came to be left behind by a security company.

The blunder led to United’s home stadium being evacuated 20 minutes before their match against Bournemouth was due to kick off after an “incredibly lifelike explosive device” was found at the ground.

“It is outrageous this situation arose and a full inquiry is required to urgently find out how this happened, why it happened and who will be held accountable,” said Lloyd.

“This fiasco caused massive inconvenience to supporters who had come from far and wide to watch the match, wasted the time of huge numbers of police officers and the army’s bomb squad and unnecessarily put people in danger, as evacuating tens of thousands of people from a football stadium is not without risk.”

Army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion on the dummy device, which was discovered in the toilets within the north-west quadrant of the stadium, between the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and the Stretford End.

ANOTHER JABU PULE IN THE MAKING

Just 26 years old  and  has been dismissed  from  four PSL clubs viz SuperSport United, Bivest Wits Chippa United and now Platinum stars. Are we about to witness another  fallen  soccer  star because of discipline. we have witnessed  great players like Jabu pule  fall because of not being disciplined is Zongo next? Thats the question that fans have been asking themselves after the  skillful star was s fired from  platinum star.soccer legend and jomo cosmos coach Jomo sono advised  Zongo to stop drinking.
"I have given you my opinion that he is good player but if he screws around I couldn't help him. Nobody else can help him and he must help himself. It is up to him if he wants to enjoy life," Sono told KickOff.
"There is one thing I always tell my players: beer, we were all born and we found our parents drinking beer... our grandparents were drinking beer, our great, great parents drinking utshwala (liquor) so you are competing with something that has been there forever and it won't help you.
"Beer has been there for decades and you have only five or four years to play football and make money and enjoy it.
"I tell them (my players) that bottle will stand there and tomorrow morning when you come it's still there so you can't compete with nice time... nice time has been there for all these years."
